Joining the server
Connect with Minecraft: Java Edition to this address. You arrive in the Lobby.
Join the TFMC Discord as well. You need it to link your account, and it has the server rules, the lore and announcements.
The Lobby and the rules quiz
Read the server rules in the Discord, then type /rulequiz in the Lobby. The questions appear in chat one at a time, and you answer by typing in chat. If you make too many mistakes, you have to wait before you can try again. Passing makes you a .
Then right-click the TFMC Roleplay figure to queue for the main server. Next to it, TFMC Tutorial takes you to the Tutorial world at any time, even before the quiz. It explains the server's features and lets you try them out. Characters and items from the Tutorial do not carry over to the main server.
Linking Discord
You need to link your Discord account before you can play. You can already do it in the Lobby, and the character screen on the main server has a Link Discord to play button. You can create a character before you link, but you cannot play one until you have. How to link
Creating your character
When you reach the main server, Minecraft asks you to accept its resource pack. Accept it, and the character screen opens once the pack has loaded. If it does not load, set Server Resource Packs to Enabled for the server in your multiplayer list (select it and click Edit), then join again.
The character screen opens every time you join. With no character yet, it offers Create character. The creator has several screens, from name, class and race to a short description and clues, so set aside some time. When you finish, click Play. Creating a character

Daily tasks
/activity opens your activity menu. Each day it deals you a set of hidden tasks, such as voting, playing for an hour or cooking dishes. Click a task to reveal it, because only revealed tasks earn points. Points fill your weekly bar. Each time the bar reaches a reward, claim it in the same menu. The bar starts again every Monday. /vote lists the voting sites.
The rewards make daily tasks worth doing. The first ones each week give metals of the current act: Ignitium, Tin or Abyssalite Fragments. The later ones give Skin Scrolls for changing how your gear looks. and above also get a daily Skin Scroll once they have revealed all of that day's tasks, and and can reroll their daily tasks once a day before earning any points.
Referrals
If someone invited you to the server, name them as your inviter and you both get rewards as you play. Open /referral, or click the Referrals head in /activity, then click Who invited you? and pick the player. You can also type /referral invitedby <name>. Either way you confirm the choice before it is saved. You can only name one inviter, and you cannot change them later.
Referrals run in seasons. During the first 14 days of a season, any player can name an inviter. After that, only accounts in their first week on the server can. Your playtime this season counts even before you name anyone.
Rewards unlock at 1, 4, 12 and 24 hours of the invited player's playtime, and both of you claim them in the same menu. AFK time does not count. The invited player's first reward is steel tools, rations and denars, and the later ones add metals of the current act. The inviter gets denars and act metals for each player they invited. Inviters also have a rare track that pays Tin and Abyssalite Fragments: its first step opens once two of your invited players have reached 24 hours, and the next ones at four, six, eight and ten players, where it ends. Claim each reward while playing a character, because it goes to the character you are playing.
